Patients with hiv who have low cd4 counts of less than 350 are more susceptible to get tuberculosis.

patients often complain cough and fever .
Fever is prolonged dosnt respond to antibiotics and is usually low grade fever.
Patients can develop lymhpnode swellings in neck and axilla .
patients can present with headache if they have tuberculous menningitis.
patients can present with abdominal pain in case of abdominal tuberculosis.
Many times tests for TB are not conclusive.

so always suspect TB if fever is not responding in a patient with HIV,
DO NOT DELAY STARTING ART TREATMENT JUST LOOKING AT CD4 COUNTS.
